Price Center

The Price Center is the place on campus where most of non-academic services are located. You can find there

  • a food court
  • the Bookstore
  • a travel agency
  • the post office
  • a copy center
  • ATMs
  • a sushi restaurant
  • a pizza place
  • espresso Roma bar
  • the campus theater
  • edna (campus-wide information center)
  • some student activities centers
  • the ballrooms

Here are some detailed information about some of this items.

Food court

It's the central, crowded, food court of the campus, not affiliated with the dining commons. For this reason you cannot spend here your dining dollars and this is one of the main lunch spots for off campus students.
You can find inside a Subway, a Panda Express, some Mexican fast food and something else. You can sit inside or outside, in the middle of Price Center. When entering, on your left, you can go to Espresso Roma (see below).

There's a dedicated page for the bookstore. Briefly, this is the main shopping option for stationery, books, UCSD merchandise, computer and electronics on campus.

Travel agency

There is a small travel agency too (name?). It's not guaranteed that they can find very good deals for you, on the contrary you can probably spend less and get more if you plan your holidays by yourself. But it's worth to go there and check, especially if you don't have a lot of time to prepare your trip.

Post Office (Room 242)

This is an USPS post office, that it the US postal service, not the campus mail service. You can send almost everything from here. To send packages abroad, you may want to check some couriers, like UPS, DHL, FedEx, MBE, and so on. They have shipping centers off campus, while USPS have this conveniently located office.

At this post office you can:

  • Mail packages and letters to U.S. destinations.
  • Mail letters weighing up to one pound to foreign countries. To mail packages to foreign countries with USPS, find the location of a full-service U.S. Post Office.
  • Rent post office boxes. Boxes are available to anyone with a picture identification and a San Diego address for a monthly rental fee:
    • Small box: $19
    • Medium box: $34
    • Large box: $64
  • Buy postage stamps at the counter or at the postage stamp machines in the lobby.
  • Buy money orders at the counter.
  • Drop off late U.S. mail in the collection box. The last pickup is at 3:30 p.m. Note: The Price Center Post Office is not a pickup or drop-off center for intra-campus mail.

Hours of operation:

  • Academic Year: 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m.
  • Summer: 9 a.m. – 3 p.m

You can pay for services by cash or personal checks (payable to "U.S. Postmaster" and accompanied by proper identification).

If instead you're looking for more information about the campus mail, check the dedicated page - campus mail.
