Studying

When you are admitted to the University of California, San Diego, you are assigned to one of the six colleges. Your college assignment is for academic advising purposes, and does not restrict your course choice. Before taking a course you have to enroll in it. At the beginning of the year or of your stay, you may be required to attend some academic advising meetings offered by your college.

Internships and preparing your thesis

Some students decide to enrich their experience at UCSD preparing their thesis or doing an internship. Here are some information about everything of your curriculum which is not just classes.

Housing and Dining

UCSD provides housing and dining services for its students. For those that want to stay on campus, there is a Housing/Dining plan (you cannot have housing only, without at least a basic dining plan). Those that are going to stay off campus can use the dining services for the same price. Both the options are listed here.

Shopping

There are some shopping options on campus, mainly for school-related goods, but not only. Here is a fast review of the main places.

Events

UCSD hosts some important events during the year. You'll find out all of them through newsletters, your college news, your RAs, and many other ways. Here is a short list.
